Who This Is For
This service is designed for adults who:
• Have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes
• Are managing pre-diabetes or insulin resistance
• Are concerned about muscle loss while losing weight
• Want structured, evidence-based exercise support
Why Strength Training Matters
Muscle plays a central role in blood glucose regulation.
Improving strength and preserving muscle mass can:

Medicare Diabetes Group Referral
We accept Medicare referrals under the Group Allied Health Services program for people with Type 2 Diabetes.

If your GP has referred you under this program, sessions may be partially subsidised through Medicare.
All participants complete an initial assessment before joining group sessions. This ensures the program is safe, appropriate, and structured to your individual health status.

Eligible participants join our supervised strength training groups, where programs are tailored to support:
• Improved insulin sensitivity
• Preservation of muscle mass
• Better glucose regulation
• Long-term metabolic health

Group sessions are delivered in a professional gym environment under Exercise Physiology supervision.

Session Times
Healthy Aging Strength Groups currently run:
• Monday – 11:30-12:30
• Friday – 10:00-11:00am
All participants complete an initial assessment before joining a group.
Spots are limited to maintain supervision and program quality.
